Bokashi Organko One Kitchen Composter Value Pack

Despatched direct from the manufacturers please allow 5-7 days for delivery.

This easy-to-use Bokashi Organko One Composter Value Pack includes everything you need to start collecting and fermenting your kitchen waste ready for it to be used in your garden.

Each Value pack includes TWO composter bins with accessories and a 5KG bag of Bokashi Active Bran (sufficient for both bins to be active for approx. 7-8 months, with additional bran available to purchase).

These composting bins have been designed to not only be efficient for the fermenting of your kitchen waste, but are also stylish enough to be on sight in your kitchen. And as there are no foul odours with this process the bins are ideal for use indoors, in the kitchen, where the waste is being generated.

Unlike conventional composters, these Bokashi bins allow you to add raw or cooked mean, fish, small bones, dairy products and many other items which cannot usually be recycled. The end result – a strong liquid which can be used neat to clean drains, toilets and septic tanks, a highly concentrated liquid fertiliser for your plants and a fermented pile of waste which you could now add to your conventional composter or dig into your garden as a soil enhancer.

Full User Guide.

Bokashi Bin - made in the EU from 100% recycled plastic. The bin is available in three colourways: Lime & Stone or Olive & White.
Dimensions:
Width
10½in / 27cm
Length 12½in / 32cm
Height 15½inc / 39cm
Capacity 16 litres / 3.5 gallons.

Airtight Tap – fits near the base of the bin to enable you to easily drain off the liquid produced during the composting process. Ideally you should drain the liquid from the bin every 48 hours. The amount and colour of the liquid drained will depend on the type of foods you have put into the bucket. Fruit and vegetables tend to release more liquid than other foods.

Plastic Strainer Tray - fits at the base of the bin to allow liquid to drain through whilst preventing any waste from reaching and blocking the tap.

Airtight Lid - vital as this is an anaerobic composting system. Seal the lid down each time you add waste - simply push gently down on the centre of the lid then clip around the whole rim to make an airtight seal.

Bokashi Measuring Scoop – use to add the bran to your bin after each new layer of waste is added. Add approx. 20ml of bran sprinkled evenly over the layer of waste.

Bokashi Mashing Utensil – every time you add waste to the bin use this tool to press down on the waste to remove as much air as possible and to begin the fermentation process.

Draining Cup – the perfect size to sit below the tap on the bokashi bin to allow you to drain away the liquid generated during the fermentation process.

5kg Bokashi Active Bran - every time you add waste into your bokashi bin you should sprinkle a handful of the bran on top. It is a dry mixture of bran and molasses, that has been inoculated with beneficial micro-organisms (a carefully selected mix of microscopic bacteria, yeasts and fungi) that work together to speed up composting, suppressing pathogens, preventing putrefaction and eliminating foul odours. 1kg of bran when used with one bin should be sufficient for 3-4 months of composting.

What you can add to your Bokashi Bin - fruit and vegetable scraps, prepared food, dairy products, raw or cooked meat, small bones, fish, eggs, bread, coffee grounds, tea bags, withered flowers and small amounts of tissue paper.

What you can do once the Bokashi process is complete - you can either add the waste to a conventional compost bin or dig into an area in your garden where you have no plants (because the waste from the bokashi bin is acidic you should leave 2 weeks for the soil pH to neutralise before putting any plants into this ground).
