Dimensions :
Diameter 1ft ½in / 32cm
Height 1ft 6in / 46.5cm
Capacity approx. 26 litres.

Sturdy Structure
– the worm buffet is made from 100% recycled plastic.

Aerated, Locking Lid – for increased airflow. This stylish green lid will fit seamlessly into your raised bed.

Recommended Location
– your Worm Buffet has been designed to be used in a raised bed. You will need to dig a hole approx. 16in / 40cm square, position the wormery and then backfill. It’s then time to add some bedding for the worms – so either a bedding block included or shredded cardboard – and then add your composting worms. This size of wormery will need around 500 composting worms to work successfully.

250g Composting Worms – worms will be sent out with your wormery unless you specify you would like to receive a voucher.  These worms are natures composters, with a veracious appetite they will quickly turn compostable waste into compost. These dendrobaena composting worms are self-regulating, the more food available the more they will breed.

850g Worm Farm and Compost Conditioner – developed to help neutralize acidity and balance pH levels so that your composting worms can digest larger quantities of waste faster. Made from a specially selected blend of natural minerals this conditioner helps soil bacteria preserve essential nutrients and increases the availability of nutrients for your plants. It also helps reduce odours and pest infestations.

Coir Bedding Block – made from 100% natural coconut fibre when added to water it will expand up to 10 times its original size. It is the perfect bedding when starting up your composter.

What To Add To The Worm Buffet – designed to recycle household waste, ideally chop up food scraps as small as possible – you can add fruit and vegetable peelings, leafy green vegetables, tea leaves, coffee grounds, torn up newspapers, egg cartons and milk or soaked pizza cartons and crushed egg shells. The greater the variety of material you use, the better the results.

How It Works – the worms move freely through the holes in the worm buffet, digesting the waste you add and depositing the rich castings into the surrounding soil. There is no need to harvest the castings as the worms do the work for you – not only helping to increase the nutrients in the soil the worms will also help to keep the soil aerated.
