Description

Vine weevil nematodes effectively stop the larvae of the vine weevil from damaging the roots of your plants. These microscopic transparent worms (Heterorhabditis megidis) target and kill the vine weevil larvae by feeding and multiplying inside them.

How Vine Weevil Nematodes Work?

The nematodes seek out and destroy the vine weevil larvae, preventing them from causing further harm to your plants. This organic solution is an ideal way to protect your garden from root damage caused by these pests.

When to Apply Vine Weevil Nematodes?

Apply vine weevil nematodes when the larvae are most active, during late spring and early autumn. If you have a high infestation, two applications may be needed for optimal control.

The nematodes are best applied to both pots and open ground between March-May and August-October, when the larvae are present and soil temperatures are above 5ºC (41ºF).

Application Tips

If applying under cover, the vine weevil life cycle is interrupted, and the nematodes can be used year-round as long as the soil temperature is above 5ºC.

Apply directly to moist soil around the roots, where the larvae feed. Use a nematode applicator or watering can for easy application.

Effective Control in Autumn

Autumn application is highly effective as the larvae are younger and have caused minimal damage to plants. To further prevent adults from entering pots, use glue bands around the edges of your pots.

Vine Weevil Instructions

The nematodes come with detailed instructions and are easy to apply using a watering can or nematode applicator. Simply apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF).
