Description
Raspberry Beetle Trap Effective for Raspberries, Blackberries & Loganberries
Raspberry beetle (Byturus tomentosus) is a common pest that affects raspberries, blackberries, and loganberries. Protect your crops from this damaging pest with our specially designed raspberry beetle trap.
Why You Need the Raspberry Beetle Trap
The adult raspberry beetle is small, about 4mm long, dark brown, and emerges from the soil in early spring. This beetle feeds on leaves, flower buds, and pollen, laying up to 120 eggs in individual flowers. The larvae later feed inside developing fruits, making them difficult to spot until harvest time.
How the Raspberry Beetle Trap Works
The Raspberry Beetle Trap is equipped with a funnel design that effectively catches and eliminates adult beetles as they emerge in spring. The trap features large off-white vanes and a floral attractant lure, mimicking a "super raspberry flower" that irresistibly draws beetles into the trap, preventing them from damaging your crop.
When and How to Use the Raspberry Beetle Trap
- Timing: Place the trap 1-1.5 meters above the ground 4-6 weeks before the first raspberry flowers bloom (April to July).
- Replacement Lures: Replace the attractant lures every 6 weeks during the raspberry season for optimal effectiveness.
- Coverage: Each trap protects up to 50m² of your raspberry crop.
