Description
The Quadgrow self watering planter uses a smart reservoir system to deliver water directly to plant roots as and when it’s needed. By keeping moisture levels steady, plants grow stronger and produce larger harvests with less effort. Trials have shown crops growing up to twice the size compared with plants grown in standard growbags or pots.
How The Quadgrow Smart Reservoir System Works
Quadgrow uses two large water reservoirs connected by a tube fitted with root filters. Water is drawn upwards through feeder mats into the compost, supplying moisture at root level without leaving plants sitting in water. This bottom-up watering method supports healthy oxygen levels in the soil and avoids problems caused by drying out or overwatering.
Each reservoir holds 15 litres of water and can keep plants watered for up to 14 days, depending on weather and plant size. The filler hole makes topping up quick and simple.
Updated Quadgrow Design With Independent Reservoir Use
The improved Quadgrow design allows each reservoir to be used independently if required. When used separately, special bungs are needed to seal the unused connector holes. These are available separately and allow more flexibility when setting up the system in different growing spaces.
What’s Included With The Quadgrow Planter
Quadgrow For 4 Plants
Includes two smart reservoir bases, feeder trays, four pots, four feeder mats, a water level dipstick, A and B bottles of Nutrigrow plant feed, connector tube, root filters, grommets, washers and fittings.
Quadgrow Set Of 2 For 8 Plants
Includes four smart reservoir bases, feeder trays, eight pots, eight feeder mats, a water level dipstick, A and B bottles of Nutrigrow plant feed, connector tubes, root filters, grommets, washers and fittings.
Pot And Reservoir Sizes
Each smart reservoir measures 62 cm long, 36 cm wide and 18 cm high, with a 15 litre water capacity. Each pot measures 25 cm square by 25 cm high and holds approximately 11 litres of compost.
Total assembled height is approximately 36 cm.
Feeder Mats And Root Level Watering
Feeder mats sit in the base of each pot and draw water from the reservoir into the compost as plants need it. This keeps moisture levels consistent around the roots and helps prevent stress caused by uneven watering.
For best performance, feeder mats should be replaced annually and are available separately.
Nutrigrow Plant Feed Included
Each Quadgrow includes 2.5 litres of Nutrigrow concentrated plant feed. This liquid feed supports steady growth, healthy foliage and increased flower and fruit production. It contains nitrogen, potash, calcium, magnesium and essential trace elements.
Young plants should be fed at 3 ml per litre of water, increasing to 6 ml per litre for mature plants. Nutrigrow can be purchased separately when required.
Please note Nutrigrow is not a natural product and seeds are not organic.
What You Can Grow In A Quadgrow Planter
Quadgrow is suitable for crops normally grown in growbags, including tomato, chilli, pepper, bean, pea, aubergine, cucumber and courgette.
The steady water supply helps reduce issues such as blossom end rot, fruit splitting and root stress.
Use Quadgrow Indoors Or Outdoors
Quadgrow planters can be used in greenhouses, polytunnels, patios, balconies or outdoor growing spaces.
The system also works well for holiday watering, holding enough water for up to 10 days, with easy top-ups if you’re away for longer.
Increase Quadgrow Water Capacity With A Float Valve Kit
Water capacity can be increased by over 100 percent using the optional Float Valve and 47 litre water tank kit.
This upgrade provides over 20 days of watering coverage, ideal for peak summer growing.
Why Consistent Watering Matters For Plant Growth
Plants rely on steady water availability to regulate transpiration through tiny openings called stomata. When water is limited, these openings close, reducing photosynthesis and slowing growth.
Hot weather increases transpiration, which is why inconsistent watering often causes problems in traditional planters. Quadgrow maintains even moisture levels at all times, helping plants grow without stress.
Frequently Asked Questions About The Quadgrow Planter
How do I check the water level in the Quadgrow planter?
Use the supplied dipstick to check the reservoir and refill when levels are low.
Can Quadgrow water plants while I’m on holiday?
Yes, the system can supply water for up to 14 days depending on conditions.
Do I water plants from above?
No. Fill the smart reservoir and plants draw water through the feeder mats as required.
How do the feeder mats work?
They pull water from the reservoir into the compost while keeping roots out of standing water.
Which plants suit the Quadgrow system best?
Tall and heavy cropping plants such as tomato, chilli, bean, pea and pepper perform particularly well.
