Description
Carrot Root Fly Nematodes for Carrot Fly Pest Control
Protect your carrot crop from the damaging effects of carrot root fly with our Carrot Root Fly Nematodes. This pack treats up to 60sqm.
Carrot Root Fly Lifecycle and Damage
Carrot root fly is active during two main periods: from April to June and August to October. During these times, the flies lay eggs in the soil, which hatch into creamy-coloured larvae within 7 days. These larvae attack carrot roots, burrowing into them and causing significant damage to the crop.
Targeted Control for Carrot Root Fly Larvae and Eggs
Our nematodes are specifically formulated to target the larvae and eggs of carrot root fly. The creamy-yellow larvae infest the roots, causing characteristic damage such as reddish/brown tunnels beneath the surface, leading to wilting and damaged foliage.
Application Instructions for Carrot Fly Nematodes
For best results, apply the nematodes when the soil temperature is at least 10°C. Water the plants within 30 minutes of application to wash the nematodes off the leaves and onto the soil for optimal pest control.
Storage and Usage Guidelines
Store your nematodes in the fridge or at temperatures below 5°C to maintain their effectiveness. Be sure to use them before the expiry date indicated on the package for optimal results.
