The Aerobin Hot Composter is really to use – simply open the lid – drop in wet and dry organic waste – and close. After a short time fertile compost is produced, which can be easily accessed at either side of the Aerobin. Produced at the same time is a nutrient rich liquid which you can use as a liquid fertilser.

The reason the Areobin works so efficiently to turn your waste into a useable organic compost is that it creates the perfect environment for hot composting. Hot composting kills any pathogens and inoculates weeds and seeds, creating a good quality compost in a short time – typically it takes from 3 to 6 months until the compost is ready to use.

You can add a wide range of materials to the Areobin – such as food scraps (including onion and citrus), tea leaves, lawn clippings, leaves, twigs and even newspaper (scrunched).

Large Top Lid – lets you easily add waste into the Areobin. It will also fit securely in place, helping to maintain a higher temperature, minimise odours and keep out pets and pests.

Insulated Walls And Lid – helping to achieve higher temperatures for the hot composting process to take place. This also means that composting can take place all year round, even during the colder months.

Patented Aeration Lung – fitted in the lower section of the Aerobin this self-aeration lung means you don’t have to turn the compost manually.

Easy Compost Removal – is via the access doors in the lower part of the Areobin. These can be used to inspect the material within the bin so you’ll know when to harvest the compost. When it looks to be evenly textured, slightly moist and dark in colour, you can use a small spade or trowel to remove the mature compost.

Features A Leachate Reservoir – at the base of the Aerobin this reservoir collects the liquid nutrients produced during the composting process. The tap at the base of the Areobin allows you to easily drain this liquid into a low-sided container. This liquid will be rich with nutrients so should only be used after it has been diluted with water.

Sturdy Structure – manufactured from 100% virgin polymer. It requires very little maintenance- an occasional wash with a wet sponge will keep it clean and looking good.

Self Assembly - supplied for self assembly, two people are needed to construct the Aerobin. The large parts of the Aerobin simply slot together to create a sturdy structure. You should site your Areobin onto a level, solid foundation, such as concreate, paving stones, bricks or timber. It should not be sited on soil or lawn.
