Standard 4' High Vegetable Cage

This product will be supplied flat pack for self assembly. Full instructions will be included.

 Each vegetable cage comes complete with everything you need to build the structure:

 Framework - 3/4" (19mm) aluminium tubing is supplied to produce a strong, rot proof frame, the tubing is joined together with strong, black UV stabilised nylon joints specially made to fit our tubing to create a strong connection.

The uprights of the cage are supplied at 4' 6" long, push 6" of this into the ground for secure anchorage leaving you 4' clear of the ground.

Netting - Select from either anti butterfly netting (10mm square mesh) or anti bird netting (20mm square mesh) to cover the frame.

Fixings - Sufficient clips are supplied to attach the net to frame and ground pegs to hold the net in place where it touches the ground.

Please Note:
In snowy weather butterfly and bird netting should either be removed or replaced by larger mesh pigeon netting to allow snow to fall through - wet snow is very heavy! Anyone who grows fruit and veg at home knows that certain crops simply can’t be raised successfully without some form of crop protection. Of course many things are suggested for keeping birds and other pests at bay, such as old CD’s and polythene bags hung among the plants.

However, although these things may work initially, birds soon learn to ignore them and of course they have no effect at all on insect pests. As far as birds are concerned, nothing works as well as covering the crop completely with a good quality fruit cage. A fruit cage or on a smaller area, a netting clad cloche, is ideal for protecting your cabbages and lettuces from marauding pigeons, and means that you have complete peace of mind, no matter how many hungry birds circle your garden.
