Screw Anchors - this tunnel is supplied with screw anchors to make fixing the tunnel to the ground easier and quicker than other polytunnels. The anchor screws take just minutes to screw into the ground - compare this to the time it takes to dig each hole when using the concreting method or ground plates, and without any of the mess.
Framework - the frame is made from supremely strong structural steel hoops, 1Ľ" / 32mm diameter and heavily galvanised inside and out to prevent corrosion. The hoops are supplied as a two piece hoop, making the hoops stronger and making construction easier.
Anti Hot Spot Tape - supplied with the tunnel, this tape is placed on the hoop of the tunnel prior to the polythene sheet being fitted. It acts as insulation between the metal and the polythene to prevent the build up of damaging hot spots and prolongs the cover life of your polythene sheet by approximately 1 year.
Clear Polythene Cover - a 720 gauge polythene which provides excellent clarity and transmits 92% of the light crops use to grow and develop. In the UK where light levels can be lower, this clear polythene allows more light to enter which in turn results in crops being ready to pick earlier. In addition to its temperature control properties, this polythene manipulates the type and level of light entering the polytunnel to significantly improve crop hardiness, colour, taste and shelf-life. Life expectancy approx 4 years.
Aluminium Base Rails - the polythene cover is fastened to the aluminium base rail using the 'w-wire' fixing system. Aluminium base rails are used as they make it much easier for you to fit and tension the cover - the polythene doesn't have to be trenched and unlike timber base rails which can require sawing, hammering or drilling - the aluminium base rails need non of these. And, should you need to adjust the polythene, the 'w-wire' can be easily removed without damaging the polythene.
Aluminium Sliding Doors Both Ends - for ease of fittings and long life these tunnels have aluminium door frames with 'w-wire' polythene fixing system. Door width approx. 35˝" / 0.9m. For ease of access and ventilation single sliding doors are supplied and come with sufficient cladding to cover to clad the doors with either polythene or net or a combination of each.
These tunnels are available in four widths:
8ft Wide - this has 3ft (92cm) high straight sides and is 7ft (2.14m) high in the centre.
10ft Wide - this has 3ft (92cm) high straight sides and is 7ft (2.14m) high in the centre.
12ft Wide - this has 3ft 6in (1.07m) high straight sides and is 7ft 6in (2.3m) high in the centre.
14ft Wide - this has 3ft (92cm) high straight sides and is 7ft 6in (2.3m) high in the centre.
All widths are available in eleven lengths:
10ft, 15ft, 20ft, 25ft, 30ft, 35ft, 40ft, 45ft, 50ft, 55ft or 60ft.
