Tool Sharpeners
Keeping your garden tools sharp and clean will keep them working efficiently and will prolong their life. Sharp blades are quicker and easier to use and are more effective than blunt ones. There are basically three options when dealing with a blunt blade - sharpen it, replace it or replace the tool. With more expensive tools it is best to sharpen or replace the blades. Tools that are easy to sharpen yourself include secateurs, loppers, knives, shears, scythes, hoes and spades. Ideally sharpen your tools with a hand held sharpener - don't use a power grinding tool to sharpen your tools unless you are sure you know what you're doing - it's easy to ruin a tool by sharpening them incorrectly.
