How Many Traps Do You Need To Use? - as a guideline use at least one trap per 25 square feet of greenhouse area, e.g. two trays in a 6’ x 8’ greenhouse, three traps in an 8’ x 10’, and five trays in an 8’ x 12’

How Do You Use Them? - remove the protective cover paper from the traps. Suspend the traps just above the plants using the wire provided. Additional trays may be suspended near vents and doors to catch any insects flying in from outside. Where plants are grown on benches, traps may be laid horizontally on the bench, removing the cover paper from the upper surface. When the trap is in need of replacement, the second side of the trap may be used (use the cover paper from the second side to re-cover the first side).

When Is The best Time To Use Them? - best results will be achieved if traps are introduced early in the season, before the pest is established. If adults are already present they should be disturbed by tapping the plants.

Top Tip

Many insect pests, particularly Whitefly, Thrips, Leaf Miners and aphids are difficult to control with insecticides. By catching the winged adults with a Yellow Sticky Trap, before they reach the plants, the build up of pests will be delayed. Existing insect populations may also be reduced.
