A Group Of Gardeners

My Question Of The Day Is ... What do you call a group of gardeners?

what do you call a group of gardeners?

I’ve been inspired to ask this question after reading Head Burro's comments which talked about his family all being gardeners ... and it’s the same for me ... everyone a dedicated gardener!

There are lots of terms we use everyday to describe different groups of animals ...
a herd of cows
a gaggle of geese
a pride of lions
a team of horses ...

And there are some more unusual descriptions as well ...

a tower of giraffes (love it ... very descriptive)
a cackle of hyenas
a prickle of porcupines (LOL)
a murmuration of starlings ...

digging the soil, all gardeners have to work hard in the garden

So, I’m wondering, is there an existing word which is used to describe a group of gardeners ... or can you think of a suitably descriptive one?

To get you started here are a few of my suggestions ...
a show of gardeners
a greenery of gardeners
a gossip of gardeners (gosh ... when gardeners get together can’t we gossip!)
a knowledge of gardeners (we all like to think we know everything ...)
an endeavour of gardeners (‘cause we’re all really trying ...)

What do you think??

Here's some other options;

A spade of gardeners
A packet of gardeners (Minus the seeds, of course)

or perhaps,

An enthusiasm of gardeners.

Hi - I fancy a mulch of gardeners meself..... or a...... erm......oooohh.......ummm... a....border of gardeners. Not very good eh? (mutters must try harder....)

How about a bed of gardeners -- or would that be taken wrong?

A catalogue of gardeners (because that's our favorite literature)

A flat of gardeners (hmm... sounds like everyone's living in the same apartment building)

A six-pack of... no, I think not. Sounds more like a beer commercial.

A sowing of gardeners (scattered happily on fertile ground, of course)

Of course! A garden of gardeners!

I put a few ideas for a group of gardeners on www.gardening4dummies.com, but my favorite is an umbel of gardeners.

(An umbel being a flower that is made up of a lot of little florets, like geraniums, onions, etc.)

Hi,

How about:
- a sod of gardeners..
- a shed of gardeners..
- a crop of gardeners..

I think I like a 'shed' best.

Good to find your blog by the way - came across it via Head Burro

My husband and I love to grow plants. As a result of this we looked for an inexpensive greenhouse that would enhance this hobby. After looking at different designs we decided to build our own. As we began building our greenhouse we came up with a couple of features that we didn't see in the greenhouses we had looked at. We added self-watering and self-anchoring features. Of course, we decided to build a business around our hobby. Our design is patent pending and we are just beginning to market them. The best thing about these greenhouses is that it takes little to no maintenance to produce beautiful plants and flowers. Check us out on the web at www.georgiamistgreenhouses.com , You'll love it and it is AFFORDABLE! Regina@georgiamistgreenhouse.com
