Does the job but a better design needed

This certainly works and keeps the pipes clear of ice. It feels warm to the touch when on which is reassuring that it's working. An LED at the sensor end would be a nice touch, to know when it is on. The sensor is huge so you'll need a big hole if you're intending to run it through a wall. Additionally, it doesn't come with a UK plug but with an adaptor, which makes it a bit bulky. Being electrically minded I was able to retrofit a UK plug but that involved soldering and heat shrink insulation. So, changing the plug and/or shortening the cable to make a neat installation is possible if you have the skills but certainly not for someone without experience. It'd be nice if the design of the cable made for easy shortening. Overall a good product though.
