We also recommend that you set up a simple drip irrigation kit to automatically supply your planters with water - depending on the size of the planter and the plants growing within it you will need about 3-4 drippers spaced around the planter to drip water directly onto the soil / compost. An irrigation system of this type will need to be attached to your mains water and can be controlled manually - by you turning your outside tap on and off - or automatically by fitting a water timer.
