Top Tips … When Growing Strawberries In Containers

Water and feed frequently - ideally add slow release fertiliser to the compost you are planting into together with moisture retaining granules (like Swell Gel). When your strawberry plants are in flower top up using a high potash liquid feed

Sunlight is critical - ideally site your container in the sunniest spot within the garden

Keep the fruits off the soil - just cover the surface of the soil with stones or pebbles to keep the fruits away from the soil – this also helps to retain moisture

Water using a watering can- to direct water to the crown of the plant, avoiding getting water on the fruit as this can cause disease.
