The Solargrow from Greenhouse Sensation is a soil-less growing kit which uses solar power to automatically feed and water your plants. Your plants will grow healthier, stronger and more quickly as they receive exactly the right amount of water and feed when they need it. The Solargrow is suitable for growing all types of plants – from tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers for example – to more exotic plants such as ginger, melons or bananas. Whatever you grow you’ll typically get up to three times more yield than if you’re growing the same plants in grow bags or soil. The Solargrow includes everything you need to get started – all you need to add are the plants – so even if you’ve never grown before the Solargrow will ensure you get great results.
- Each Solargrow Kit Includes:
- Solargrow Planter with reservoir – Size approximately 21½” x 17” x 11” deep (55 x 44 x 28cm)
- Solar Panel – when this solar panel has received a programmed level of light, water and nutrient are pumped from the reservoir up over the roots of your plants. Whatever the roots don’t take up drains back into the reservoir to be used again. As the water and nutrients drain away fresh oxygen is pulled down to the roots of the plants – giving them a regular boost of fresh air, essential for healthy plant growth.
- Nutrients – enough for one year. The Solargrow is designed to pump the nutrients and water directly to the roots of your plants, rather than the roots having to search out for them, resulting in quicker growth.
- Clay Pebbles and capillary tubes – these are used instead of soil. They allow air to flow freely around the roots of your plants and let excess water and nutrients easy drain away from the roots, so your plants never become water logged.
- Nutrient Testing Kit – to allow you to test the contents of the reservoir once a week
- Instructions – even new gardeners can be confident when using the Solargrow. The kit supplies you with everything to get started – all you have to do is place your plants into the planter and fill the reservoir with a mixture of water and nutrients (supplied). Trialled and tested for over three years, the Solargrow has been shown to work effectively even on overcast days.
What Can I Grow In The SolarGrow? You can grow almost any type of plant in your Solargrow and you can mix crops. As plants grown in the Solargrow produce much larger crops than when grown in soil, it’s suggested that you fill the Solargrow with three plants – your favourite vegetable as the lead crop and then adding a further two additional plants. Tomatoes are the most popular plant to grow in the Solargrow – although as you mix tomato plants with other cropping plants such as sweet peppers, chillies, aubergines, cucumbers, beans or herbs. Other cropping plants which you could grow include chard, courgettes, peas, salad leaves or spinach. Grow exotics or slower growing plants that need lots of space, growing one plant in the Solargrow. Suggested plants include ginger, lemongrass, melons and dwarf bananas. Or raise decorative plants such as lilies, primulas or palms.
