Elite 4’4" (1320mm) Kensington Lean-To

The 4’4" (1320mm) Wide Kensington Lean-To has been designed to be sited against a house or garden wall whilst providing a large, effective growing area. The wall will provide some insulation properties during the cooler months, whilst painting the wall white will reflect more light into the greenhouse.

Standard Features

Framework
A sturdy, maintenance-free aluminium frame with strong, well braced glazing bars. Integral guttering along the length of the lean-to provides extra strength at the eaves & enables easy rainwater collection with the addition of a Rainwater Collection Kit.

Finish
The frames are available in either plain aluminium or with a smart, durable powder coated finish. Available in white, green or brown & supplied complete with neat bolt head covers (black covers with green & brown finish, white covers with white finish) the coloured finish greatly enhances the overall appearance of the lean-to. Whatever finish you choose the frame is easy to keep clean – you can keep plain aluminium looking good by regularly washing the framework with soapy water whilst a coloured finish needs very little attention.

Glazing
The lean-to’s are glazed to the ground for maximum light transmission. You can choose from either:
Horticultural Glass – 3mm horticultural glass which is held in place using strong, stainless steel glazing clips.
Toughened Glass – 4mm toughened glass to BS 6206 Grade A. Choose his high quality glass for added strength (for example when greenhouse is to be located in an exposed area) & safety (for families with young children, pets etc.). The toughened glass is supplied in large panes so fewer joints or overlaps are required, improving the appearance of the greenhouse.
Please note: if a glass glazed lean-to is sited against a wall which has access into your home, building regulations state that 4mm toughened glass must be used for the glazing.
Polycarbonate Glazing – 6mm UV stabilised polycarbonate. Shatterproof & virtually unbreakable polycarbonate has excellent light transmission & heat retention properties. Choose this glazing then for maximum safety is required.

When glazing a lean-to with either toughened glass or polycarbonate PVC Bar Capping can be purchased to hold the glazing in place. Bar capping fits down the vertical glazing bars of the greenhouse, resting over the edge of the glazing it holds it very securely in place.

Ventilation
The 4’4" (1320mm) Wide Kensington Lean-To is supplied as standard with one 2’ x 2’ (610mm x 610mm) opening roof vent & one five bladed louvre window. Where more ventilation is required – useful in the height of summer or when growing alpines - you can purchase either:
Additional Roof Vents – these can be sited in every other roof panel (they CAN NOT be sited side be side). You can automate the opening of these vents – useful when you’re at work or away on holiday – by purchasing Bayliss XL Vent Openers.

Additional Louvre Windows – glazed to match the lean-to glazing. Site either in the opposite gable to the door or in the length of the lean-to. Install near the base of the lean-to for maximum air circulation. Although louvre windows CAN NOT be sited side by side they can be placed in every 2’ (610mm) length of the lean-to by installing higher in alternate panes. To automate the opening of the louvres simply fit Automatic Louvre Openers.

Assembly
All Elite Lean-Tos are supplied with comprehensive instructions & are delivered flat pack for self assembly.

Delivery Time
Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery for lean-tos with plain aluminium frames.
For lean-tos with a powder coated coloured frame please allow 8-10 weeks for delivery.
Elite deliver their greenhouses using their own transport. For efficient delivery please ensure you supply a complete delivery address & a contact telephone number (Elite will then be able to advise you of a delivery date).

By Quotation – as Elite use their own transport to deliver the greenhouses they DO NOT cover all areas in Scotland, or deliver themselves to Scottish Highlands or Isles of Man, Wight & Scilly, Northern Ireland or Channel Isles.
