Traditionally plant pots are round. When looking at the size of the plant pot round pots are always measured by their diameter at their rim in inches. Ideally, you should always have on hand two basic sizes of pots – between 2 to 2½” diameter pots and 5 to 6” diameter pots. When you’re growing house plants, round pots tend to be more appropriate as decorative pots are often round in shape.
