Secateurs

Secateurs are an essential tool when gardening. A good pair of secateurs will let you snip and prune for long periods without getting tired hands, and at the same time they will produce a clean, accurate cut essential for healthy plant growth. There are basically two types of secateurs available: Bypass Secateurs and Anvil Secateurs. Most gardeners use Bypass Secateurs as these are ideal when reaching into tight spaces and will produce a cut flush to the plant stem. Bypass Secateurs has a cutting action like a pair of scissors – and unsharpened blade supports the stem and a cutting blade slices past it to provide a clean cut. Anvil Secateurs are better when cutting hard, dry wood and require less effort when cutting through thick stems.
