Two Wests and Elliott Ltd
NEW MODULAR COLD FRAME GIVES MAXIMUM VERSATILITY
Two Wests and Elliott is launching a new Modular Cold Frame in its just-published Quality Equipment Catalogue Autumn/Winter 2010. Designed and built at its Derbyshire workshop, the robust and durable new model will appeal both to those new to gardening and seasoned gardeners wishing to extend their growing season. Glazed throughout with heat-retentive polycarbonate, it is perfect for producing earlier and later crops, seed sowings, striking cuttings and hardening-off young plants. It is particularly well suited to house September to November sowings of sweet peas, encouraging the production of robust, stocky plants for planting out next spring.
The frame is constructed of sturdy, long-lasting aluminium, but is still light enough to be easily moveable around the garden or allotment, whilst legs at each corner allow for secure anchorage. It can also be supplied without legs if required for an area of hard-standing. The large, hinged ‘light’ or top can be secured in three positions – closed, half open and fully open – to regulate ventilation, moisture and temperature.
A unique feature of the new Modular Cold Frame is its ability to be extended if required. Simply order one or more of the
extension kits to increase the length of the cold frame in multiples of 4ft ad infinitum. The clever design makes it possible to increase the length whilst still retaining the strength and rigidity of the structure creating one large, open, protected growing space.
The Modular Cold Frame is 47 inches long, 25 inches wide, 18 inches high at the back, sloping to 15 inches high at the front. It is priced at £75.35 and arrives flat-packed with full instructions for easy assembly. Each Cold Frame Extension costs £70.35, but buy one of each for just £139.95, saving £5.75.
